History of Halloween

Halloween is most likely related too the Gaelic harvest fesival called Samhain. Which is when people use to celebrate the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the darker side of the year, were they could not grow crops. Samhain and Halloween are likely relate to the Day/Festival of the Dead or also called All Souls Day on November 1st and 2nd, the first of November is more to celebrte the passing of infants and children, where the second day of November is more to celebrate adults and elders. Day of the Dead/All Souls Day is still celebrates in some place, such as Mexico. During Day of the Dead it's believed that souls of the ones that passed are allowed to come back for that day, so they build an alter and fill it with foods and gifts, they also pray so there ansestors can hear them. check out for more information about the history of halloween
